Where It Began
At Andrew Morgan, we believe your everyday essentials should never feel ordinary. When we began developing The Bascom Hoodie, we reached out to textile mills across the country, only to find that the same generic fabrics were being used by everyone else. That wasn’t good enough.
The Problem with Polyester
Most brands blend polyester into their fabrics to create a “soft touch.” The issue? Polyester is made from crude oil and processed into plastic. Each wash releases microplastics into the water supply, and because they’re not biodegradable, they linger in our environment for centuries. Beyond the impact, polyester breaks down quickly. It pills, loses its shape, traps heat, and leaves clothes feeling heavy and uncomfortable.
The Pursuit of Better
We set out to find America’s finest textile mill, one that shared our belief that luxury should never require compromise. That search led us to Los Angeles, where we partnered with a family-run mill that has defined fabric innovation for over 35 years. Known for blending heritage craftsmanship with modern performance, they’ve mastered knits that are durable, breathable, and remarkably soft.
Our Custom Fabric
Together, we developed a fabric that’s uniquely ours, crafted from Supima® Cotton, harvested from America’s premier fields for its lasting strength and softness, and TENCEL™ Micro Modal, sustainably sourced from beechwood, for a naturally silky, breathable feel. Thread by thread, these materials are woven into something extraordinary. Velvety smooth, buttery to the touch, and built to last.
